If you have ever been to Seattle, you understand that the city is a huge sports town, even though their industry is built around technology. Who would have thought the IQ of a quarterback, who has been benched, laughed at, put on a hot seat, traded and found a new nest, would be the buzz around town For the first time since 2014, the Seahawks have a chance to rewrite history within their organization with a QB, who has had more rejections than applying for a job on LinkedIn.
Now, we know the history of Darnold's shortcomings, but let's talk about his achievements in the last two years. He has brought a lot of life into the Vikings as well as the Seahawks. When he is not overwhelmed in the pocket, he has made big play after big play and yet people still doubt him, heading into his first Super Bowl.
The 12's have been hurt each year in the playoffs, as well as a drop-off in their rebuilding phase, but they kept hope with praising Darnold this season. Darnold has fed off that energy, and it has shown as he had 25 touchdowns, 14 picks, and threw for over 4,000 yards this season. I have no idea what made his productivity that good this season, but the Seahawk's fans base has brought into his stock.
Darnold loves the fans and the energy that they bring each and every game. Hopefully, as Sunday approach, the 12's will help him escape the Super Bowl nerves and bring another trophy back to Seattle. If so, the Seahawks would rewrite history with defeating the Patriots and getting their revenage in a city that "Beastmode" was born and bred in.
