Rams' offense sinks in loss to Cowboys

The Rams (3-5) fell to the Cowboys 43-20 on Sunday at AT&T Stadium.

As the game was 10-3 late in the second quarter, the Cowboys (5-2) returned an interception for a touchdown and capitalized on back-to-back special team's miscues to quickly make it 26-3. The Rams added a 1-yard touchdown run by running back Royce Freeman with four seconds left in the second quarter to make it 33-9.

In the second half of the game, Los Angeles was able to cut its deficit to 17 points after quarterback Matthew Stafford threw a 20-yard touchdown pass and wide receiver Tutu Atwell completed a 2-point pass to Stafford. While they held Dallas to a field goal on the ensuing possession, that Dallas scoring drive chewed nearly 10 minutes off the game clock.

Stafford completed 13 of 22 passes for 162 yards with one touchdown and one interception prior to exiting in the third quarter with a thumb injury (questionable to return and ultimately did not).

Coach Sean McVay said he didn't know the extent of Stafford's injury when asked about it.

As a result, Dak Prescott completed 80.6% of his passes for 304 yards and four touchdowns for a quarterback rating of 133.7. It marked the first time he had completed four touchdown passes in a game in his career since 2021. With 12 catches, 158 yards, and two touchdowns, CeeDee Lamb benefited from Prescott's hot day.
