Right after Paige Bueckers was drafted, a lot of people circled the date that the Wings and the Fever would go head-to-head. It was the match-up that fans wanted to see with Caitlin Clark and the rook in PB go at it. However, the basketball gods told the world that they were not ready and forced Clark to be out of the line-up with a groin injury. Despite Indiana not having their star player in the line-up, the Wings could not take advantage of the situation and fell behind by 17 in the first half.

I guess somebody told PB something that mad her upset, because she played lights out in the second. She could not miss and brought her team back from the day with a fight. Late in the fourth, the Wings had tied the game up at 82, but Kelsey Mitchell was not going to be stopped. Mitchell buried a three and helped her team extend their lead to seven with only two minutes left. Arike Ogunbowale and P.B attempted to force an ill-advised shot from behind the arc, but it barley grazed the rim. The Fever went onto win 94-86.

Now, the narrative that people will be talking about is the 20,000 fans, who showed up for the game, but let's continue to talk about the buzz of women sports. Despite, the injuries that the Wings have had to start off the first half of the season, they were still in the mix competiting. It is only a matter of time that the Wings will be flying high.
