Padres stun Dodgers in series

The San Diego Padres took it to the Los Angeles Dodgers in a 3-game series, winning the finale 6-1, and taking the series 2-1. The fourth-place Padres finished 4-9 against them this season. Juan Soto & Luis Campusano homered, propelling SD to victory. This was their 1st regular season series win against LAD in two years.

Blake Snell of the SD Padres put on a show. Snell gave up one hit over six scoreless innings and could become the 7th player to win the Cy Young Award in both leagues. Snell won the AL Cy Young with Tampa Bay in 2018.

The Dodger big bats seemed to have cooled. Betts singled and walked — stealing second each time — only to be left stranded. He was the Dodgers’ only base runner through seven innings. Kolten Wong came off the bench to hit a solo homer for the LAD in his only at bat. When asked if there were any concerns regarding Dodger pitching, Manager Dave Roberts summed it up by stating “we’ll be fine.” Roberts and his squad are looking forward to a day off before starting a 3 game series against the Seattle Mariners.
