Oscars end in a tale of confusion
Los Angeles- With a tale of tributes throughout the night for the late Chadwick Boseman, many felt like he was going to win in the category of best actor, but in a turn of events, Anthony Hopkins stole the show.
With the Best Actor category being the last award of the night, it will be forever remembered as a disaster. Presenter Joaquin Phoenix went on stage to announce, as well as presented the best actor award to whoever won in the category. Many felt like it was going to be Chadwick Boseman with his performance in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.
However, that was not the case. Boseman was shocked by Anthony Hopkins, who won for his performance in The Father. What was weird was Hopkins did not attend the event, nor was watching the Oscars. Phoenix had to regain his composure, because, well it was very awkward with him standing with an Oscar trophy in his hands, so he decided to end the awards.
For Hopkins, this was his second Oscar win in his career and first one in over 30 years.
