Lin-Manuel Miranda will be honored at Celebration of Latino Cinema at the end of the year

Los Angeles- For the first time ever, the Critics Choice Association will honor Latina Cinema in a virtual ceremony.




Since the global pandemic is still on-going, the Critics Choice Association has decided to go virtual with their celebration of Latina Cinema. Lin-Manuel Miranda, Rita Moreno,and Demian Bichir will be honored and recognized for their contributions to Latino Cinema. Lin-Manuel will be honored and given the Visionary Award, Moreno will be celebrated and given the Icon Award, and Bichir will receive the Career Achievement Award in recognition of the tenth anniversary of “A Better Life,”. The Film A Better Life made him one of only four Latinos to ever receive a nomination for the Academy Award for best actor.



“We are thrilled to be launching the first annual Celebration of Latino Cinema which recognizes the talented performers and skilled professionals who create the acclaimed films we are so proud to honor,” said Claudia Puig, CCA member and co-programmer of the event.
