The Los Angeles Lakers came into Game 1 as the underdog, but didn’t play like it, picking up a big win over the Houston Rockets to open the series.

From the start, the Lakers looked more put together than expected. Even with injuries and lineup changes, they stayed steady and didn’t try to force anything. They moved the ball, stayed patient, and kept themselves in the game until they were able to take over late. LA finished the game on a 14-6 and went onto win 107-98.
Houston came in as the healthier team and the one most people expected to win, but the Lakers didn’t really let them get comfortable. When the game got tighter, Los Angeles stayed composed and made the plays they needed to close it out.
It was also a historic night, as LeBron James and Bronny James became the first father-son duo to appear in the same playoff game. Luke Kennard had one heck of a game, finishing with 27 points
Before the playoffs started, ESPN analyst Danny Green mentioned on a call that he originally thought the Lakers were done after the injuries but said they started showing signs of coming together late in the season. That showed in this game. They didn’t look like a team ready to fold.
Now, the Lakers have already shifted the feel of the series and will try to build on this performance in Game 2, set for Monday at 10:00 p.m. ET on T
