The Knicks defeated the Spurs 124-113 to capture the NBA Cup and earned extra money for their contributions.

For the last few years, the NBA wanted to bring more excitement to the fans as well as make the game of basketball a bit competitive to kick off the first half of the season. This year has been very competitive, and you saw that in this championship match between the Knicks and Spurs. The game itself was very tight as both teams could not stretch out their lead to double digits until the Knicks went on a 14-6 run late in the third to take a bit of control. Mitch Robinson was the key factor with the run. Each time the Knicks would miss a shot, his hands would find the ball for a second attempt for the Knicks.
It seemed like the Spurs had no answer with boxing out Robinson. In the fourth quarter, it was big Brunson time. Jalen Brunson took control of the game and was very efficient with getting the ball in the net. Outside of Bronson, New York was shooting the three at a 40% clip. With under three minutes left, Josh Hart a dagger that put the game out of reach. New York went onto win the Cup and Brunson was the MVP of the game, notching 25 points.
