Jewell Loyd helps the Storm secure the victory over the Lynx 88-86
Bradenton, FL- The Seattle Storm gets the W over the Lynx, as Alysha Clark hit the game winner at the end of regulation, 88-86.
Seattle started the game a little sluggish and had to dig themselves out of a seven point hole early in the first half against the Minnesota Lynx. Jewell Loyd hit a couple of threes to get the Storm back into the game and that started a 6-2 run for Seattle. Loyd was sizzling from everywhere and was putting the Storm on her back, as her teammates struggled to find their shot. Loyd finished the half with 18 points.
Breanna Stewart and Sue Bird had a slow start and looked out of sync with each other. Both players combined for 14 points in two quarters. The Storm went into the half on a 9-0 run and had a 50-45 lead against the Lynx.
The Storm struggled to get buckets to drop in the third quarter, but did a pretty good job with stopping Crystal Dangerfield..They held Dangerfield to two points in the third. Stewart started to get going with under a minute left in the third and started a 6-o run to help the Storm get some breathing room going into the fourth.
The Lynx roared back into the game with a 8-0 run to cut the Storms' lead to one midway in the fourth. The Storm had troubled stopping Napheesa Collier who was hitting wide open shots and she was a key factor with starting the run.
With 1.4 seconds left in regulation, Alysha Clark pulls the rabbit out the hat, as she hits a game winning shot.
Loyd finished with 25 points, 4 assists, and 6 rebounds. The Storm had four other players in double figures.
