Jawaan Taylor wants to take the next step with the Jaguars

Jacksonville- Coming off a great rookie season last year with the Jags, offensive lineman Jawaan Taylor still feels like there is much he has to improve on.

Despite the blowout loss to the Maimi Dolphins last week, a lot of players are still playing loose and have a positive mindset about what they need to improve on. Jawaan Taylor, who impressed many coaches with his talent last year as a rookie, feels motivated to improve his skillsets to get to the next level in his career. Taylor has been penalized in a couple of games for moving too early or holding calls that hurt his team.

“In year two, I feel like I’m just trying to be more consistent with my play, especially like with penalties and different things like that I was going through early on last season. That’s just things that I want to sharpen up on. Being more professional, so that’s mainly my thing right now. I’m just trying to play more consistent and help my team win games," said Taylor.

The Jaguars have a long way to go to be considered a team that could be a threat in the playoffs, but the team is taking it step by step. "We always look at it as 0-0 mentality and just keep pushing forward, so that’s mainly what we like to do and how we go about our business here. [We’re] definitely trying to win these next two games, like you said, that’s the main focus right now. Cincinnati’s on the clock, so we’re just going to go out there and try to have a good week of practice and get prepared and go out there and get a win."
