New York- Jalen Brunson continues to add to his legacy, as he puts up 30 to help the Knicks steal Game 1 from the San Antonio Spurs 105-95.

Coming into this series, a lot of people knew that these two teams were going to throw blows at each other and that is what happened in the first half. San Antonio threw the first attempt at a knockout punch towards the end of the second quarter. Everything was dropping for the Spurs, while the Knicks had to deal with a few of their players getting into foul trouble. San Antionio built up a 14-point lead, but Jalen Brunson was the story of the second half.

Despite, Victor Wembanyama having a decent shooting night in the first half, Karl Anthony Towns and OG put a lot of pressure on him when he was bringing up the ball. They turned the game right around as the Knicks had four steals mid-way in the third to cut the Spurs' lead to three. I guess Brunson told himself that it was time to be great and put the Spurs in the rocking chair, because he went to work. From finding his open players to nailing down shots, he went on a personal 14-point quarter in the fourth to walk the red carpet with a win for the Knicks.

After the game, Brunson had this to say about things that New York needs to improve on. “We just got to go back and watch the things we can do better,” Brunson told the ABC broadcast.

“It’s a long journey but there’s a lot of things we can do better.”
