Ja Morant ices the Pelicans as he returns from suspension

In the end, with 34 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists, and a spinning dribble in the lane to set up a game-winning floater as time expired, ladies and gentlemen JA MORANT is back.

The Grizzlies, who entered on a five-game skid and were 6-19 during Morant's 25-game suspension trailed by 24 in the first half. However, they took a 113-111 lead on Morant's inside basket with 1:22 to go. The Pelicans tied it and the teams exchanged missed 3-pointers before Morant's winner.

When Ja handled the ball on the opening possession, Pelicans fans booed him heartily and he was heartily booed during the pregame introductions. Despite being winded at times and not shooting many jumpers, Morant showed no signs of losing his ability to drive into the paint and finish. He shook that rust off quickly.

Ja wasn't alone as Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 24 points and Desmond Bane had 21 points as the squad snapped the Pelicans' winning streak of four games.

Brandon Ingram scored 34 points for the Pelicans, who had plenty of offensive power. However, Zion Williamson's time on the court was limited by foul trouble and he finished with just 13 points. Jonas Valanciunas had 22 points and 14 rebounds for New Orleans. CJ McCollum added 18 points on six 3s.
