This week's edition of Monday Night Raw kicked off with an explosive pipe bomb by CM Punk aimed at John Cena, The Rock, and as soon as he got to Seth Rollins. Rollins came running out and all hell broke loose as the two rivals fought pillar to post. Raw GM Adam Pearce announced Punk vs Rollins in a steel cage match next Monday from Madison Square Garden.
However, the big news of the night is Iyo Sky punching her ticket to Wrestlemania. IYO SKY challenged Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s World Championship. Ripley was too distracted by Belair’s presence on the commentary desk as she would face the winner at WrestleMania due to her win in the Women’s Elimination Chamber.
Ripley got into a shoving match with Belair as Ripley was upset at Ripley for cheering on Sky. As Ripley went to hit Riptide from the second rope, she paused to talk trash to Belair. This allowed Sky to counter Riptide into a hurricanrana and hit the Over the Moonsault to score the win and take the title.
This was a surprising twist going into Wrestlemania the betting favorite match was forsure Ripley vs Belaire but it seems to be a triple threat match. Kudos to WWE for adding surprising monkey wrenches on the road to Wrestlemania.
