It was Aja Wilson and Jewell Loyd who led the Las Vegas Aces to a 87-62 victory over the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday night. Wilson finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds while Loyd hit six 3-pointers and scored 20 points.

After scoring 31 points and 16 boards in a season-opening 92-78 road loss to the defending champion New York Liberty, Wilson posted her second straight double-double for the Aces (1-1).  Loyd, in her first season with the Aces after spending 10 with the Seattle Storm, hit four in a row from beyond the arc. She also hit 6 of 9 overall. Jackie Young knocked two 3-pointers and scored 16 points for Las Vegas. Chelsea Gray contributed 12 points, six rebounds, and four assists.

Tina Charles led the Sun (0-2) with 20 points.  In her debut, Saniya Rivers - the eighth overall pick - scored 11 points and pulled down four rebounds off the bench.

The Aces' defensive strategy focused on limiting the Sun's scoring opportunities by applying intense pressure on the perimeter and forcing turnovers. They successfully disrupted Connecticut's offensive rhythm, allowing just 62 points. The Aces also controlled the boards, securing crucial defensive rebounds that limited the Sun's second-chance points.

On Friday, Las Vegas plays the Washington Mystics at home.   Friday, Connecticut travels to Minnesota to play the Lynx.
