With the acquiring of Sophie Cunningham, Dewanna Bonner and Natsha Howard, the Fever with their floor general in Cannon Caitlin Clark are one of the teams that people feel like they could make a deep push to be in the WNBA Finals. That statement would have to rest for awhile as they opened up the start to their season against the Chicago Sky. Cannon Clark had a bit of a rough patch in the first quarter as she scored five points and had two quick fouls.
Despite Clark having two fouls, Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston were putting on an offensive clinic. Boston was in her bag, hitting defenders with fakes and spin moves for easy lay in, while Mitchell was busting threes from rainbow land. The Fever kept Chicago from going on runs and had a 45-32 lead at the half.
The Fever's' lead exploded to 20 at one point in the second half. Clark and Boston had that pick and pop or roll connection, which was work for Indiana. their defense haunted the Sky and held Angel Reese in check for the most part. Clark finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 1o dimes in the victory.
