Fever's defense couldn't match the Aces' offense in a 88-69
For the first time this season, the Indiana Fever won a game against an opponent that was over .500 on Sunday. Building off that momentum and victory, they wanted to put that towards the Aces but that would be a tall glass of water that they needed to drain. Allyah Boston has come alive in the last five games on both sides of the ball, so they needed her presence to stop the front-runner of this year's potential MVP in Aja Wilson. There were so many great matchups from inside and out that, as a fan you were smiling with glee before tipoff.
The pace of the game was pretty fast paced as expected. Caitlain Clark was dropping dimes out of the sky and had the Aces on their heels. For the most part of the half. Clark was not really scoring or attempting to score. She was attempting to get Kelsey Mitchell and Boston involved and they held down the fort the best that they could. Aja Wilson was giving the Fever the works. Wilson was putting the Fever in cold sweats as she was in her bag.
Indiana clawed and scrapped themselves back in the game in the third quarter, after building a bunch of bricks. For some strange reason, the Aces' offense was stunted, and the Fever took advantage of it. At the start of the fourth, the Fever cut the Aces' lead to seven. I guess someone told the Aces to score, because they went on a 12-0 run jump to a 13-point lead. Indiana went on to wave the white flag at the 1-minute mark. Clark finished with 13 points.
