Falcons scrap out a win against the Bucs

In spite of three turnovers the second-year quarterback lost in Bucs territory and numerous costly defensive penalties, the Falcons rallied for a 16-13 victory that ended an eight-game road losing streak and lifted them to the top of the division.

Ridder's fumbles were all costly, including one that wiped out a 12-yard touchdown run with less than four minutes left. A review determined Ridder fumbled before breaking the plane of the goal line, so officials reversed the call to a touchback.

During the course of the game, Atlanta was penalized nine times for 60 yards, with six flags resulting in first downs for Tampa Bay. Cornerback Dee Alford was called for pass interference at the Atlanta 8. In the final minute of the game, with less than a minute remaining, the Buccaneers had an opportunity to take the lead, but settling for a game-tying field goal.

In the final 45 seconds, Ridder returned to the field and moved the Falcons 45 yards to give Koo a shot at the win, and Koo delivered a 51-yard field goal to seal the victory.

The Falcons played most of the game without rookie running back Bijan Robinson. He played sparingly and had just one carry for 3 yards. Robinson who is the team's leading rusher wasn't feeling well said Coach Smith.

Cordalle Patterson and Tyler Allgeier combined for 115 rushing yards as Rider finished 19/25 with 250 passing yards.

Mayfield finished 27 of 42 passing for 275 yards and one touchdown. Evans finished with six catches for 82 yards and a touchdown.

The Falcons improved to 4-3 and atop the NFC South
