Eagles' offense suffers a meltdown in the second half

Coming into the game against the Broncos, the Eagles wanted to feed their stars in AJ Brown and get him into rhythm, as well as Devanta Smith. In the first half, Brown had a couple of catches that went for a first downs. Smith had a huge 57-yard catch in the second quarter, which was a key catch, because a few plays later, the Eagles scored a touchdown to get a little breathing room with extending their lead before break.


Coming out the locker room with a 10-3 lead, the Eagles wanted to keep their foot on the pedal and came out aggressive on their first possession of the second half. Jalen Hurts threw a 47-yard touchdown pass to Saquan Barkley to go up 17-3.


Let's head to the fourth. For majority of the game, the Eagles controlled both sides of the ball, but Denver got themselves bake in the game with a two-yard running touchdown to cut Philly's lead to one possession The Eagles on their next possession could not convert the third down and had to put. With great field position, the Broncos drove the ball down the field and tacked on eight points to capture the lead, 18-17. With under three minutes left in regulation, the Eagles' defense needed a stop to get the ball back to their offense. On a third and short, the Eagles made a key stop, but a costly penalty helped the Broncos seal the deal and gave the Eagles their first loss of the season 21-17.


Hurts finished 23/38 for 280 yards and 2 touchdowns
