Eagles hang tight against the Cowboys, 23-9

Philadelphia- Despite four turnovers, the Eagles escape with a victory over the Dallas Cowboys, 23-9.

With under .50 seconds left in the first quarter, Carson Wentz threw a two yard touchdown pass to Jalen Reagor for the Eagles first touchdown and lead of the night against the Cowboys, 7-3. Early in the second quarter, Wentz did not see an outside blitz by Dallas and fumbled the ball for the Eagles second turnover of the night. The Eagles' defense held the Cowboys to a field goal and was holding onto a one point lead after the turnover, 7-6. Wentz threw a crucial interception before the end of the half, which stopped a potential score for the Eagles. The Cowboys kicked a 59-yard field goal at the end of the first half to regain the lead, 9-7.

Wentz threw his second interception of the night in the early stages of the third quarter. Wentz was trying to go all out and over throw his wide receiver. Wentz made up for his mistake with a touchdown throw to Travis Fulgham and converted on a two-point conversion to take back the lead 15-9 late into the third.

The Eagles defense sealed the deal with a fumble recovery that was returned for a touchdown with five minutes left in regulation to make it 21-9. The Cowboys took a safety to attempt an onside kick late in the fourth quarter to extend the Eagles' lead to 23-9. The Eagles recovered the onside kick and went on to run the clock out.
