Dodgers Spring Training Preview

Coming off a shortened World Series victory, the defending champs, Los Angeles Dodgers are more than ready for the season to begin.

The Dodgers kicked off free agency with a bang, by signing Trevor Bauer and resigning Justin Turner. Bauer was one of the most sought out pitchers this free agency after winning the Cy Young award last season, while Turner was a key player in last year’s Championship run.

The media spoke with some of the players during spring training camp, along with Manager Dave Roberts and everyone seemed optimistic about the upcoming season. I spoke with pitcher Tony Gonsolin about the nerves coming into the season as defending champs, “Yes its great winning last year, but our focus is this year, playing the best 162 games and the 11 games in the playoffs to win that ring.”.

The pandemic has halted big gatherings and Roberts said that this was the first time he has been around his team since the World Series.. Roberts also spoke on some injured players such as Cody Bellinger saying, he will be ready for opening day, along with pitcher Joe Kelly. When asked who he was most excited to see play, Roberts responded, Catcher Austin Barnes, Chris Taylor and AJ Pollock.

The Dodgers look like they could be the favorites to win it all again. LA has weapons offensively and as the world saw last season, they thrive when they are faced with their backs against the wall. They are beyond ready for the upcoming season, and all the obstacles that may be thrown their way.
