Danny Willett out of Players Tournament for testing positive for COVID-19

New York- Former Master Champion Danny Willett has decided to opt out of the Players Tournament, due to testing positive for COVID-19.


Willett, who was looking forward with making a deep run this week in the tournament had to opt out Tuesday, because he tested positive for COVID-19. Before opting out, Willett had made the cut six straight times, but has not landed a top 10 finish since the start of 2020. His first and major victory was winning the Masters in 2016.


Kramer Hickok, who was an alternate will be taking Willett's place in the tournament.
