Cooper Flag is the overall No.1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft class

The wait is finally over, and the Mavericks can start building their pieces beside the overall number one draft pick in Cooper Flag. At the start the season, the Mavericks made a shocking move with trading away Luka Doncic and picking up Anothy Davis. After all of the shock from fans and a built up of criticism, the Mavericks have decided to rebuild something with their new player.

Right before they drafted Flag, Kyrie Irving was awarded a new three-year deal for $119 M! Now, Flag has some huge shoes to fill. Hopefully, he can transition his game from college to the pros, because at Duke, that young man can play. A lot of people like his footwork, his ability to take over games when need be and an intensity that people love from him. It will be interesting to see how he will do in the big leagues, but for right now, he is the future of the Mavericks.
