It was a great day for Clemson football on March 28 at Memorial Stadium when the orange team defeated the White team 23-3 in the annual spring game.

For the Orange team, Clemson quarterback Christopher Vizzina had four drives. The team consisted of first-team players except for those out with injuries, including wide receivers Bryant Wesco Jr. and T.J. Moore.A touchdown was thrown by Vizzina on 10 of 18 pass attempts and he rushed twice for 14 yards. He played against a White team without any of Clemson's predicted starters.

Between the Orange and White teams, freshman quarterback Tait Reynolds was 7-of-10 for 74 yards, rushed for a touchdown, and sacked five times. With Trent Pearman at quarterback, Gideon Davidson rushed for 80 yards on nine carries, and Tyler Brown scored a touchdown. Defensively, the orange starters dominated, recording multiple sacks, including a safety, and forcing three three-and-outs. The defensive performance highlighted the depth and coordination of the orange team, showcasing their ability to disrupt the White team's offense consistently.

This dominance provided a clear indication of the potential strengths and areas for improvement as the team prepares for the upcoming season's challenges. Running back Davidson stood out to me and I can see the offense leaning heavily on him this season. QB Vizzina looked poised and confident as well, and if the offensive line holds up, I can see this offense putting up huge numbers.

Heading into 2026, the Tigers aren’t chasing hype, they’re trying to prove they still belong in it.
