Chiefs' second half comeback was shot down by Denver in closing seconds with a go-ahead field goal 22-19

After coming off their bye, the Kansas City Chiefs had a date with a surging Denver Broncos, who has been making some noise in the AFC. One of the biggest narratives coming into this game was the Chiefs lack of productivity in close games this season.


As projected, the first half was pretty much a defensive game. Both teams combined for 12 points. I guess Andy Reid had a mouthful to say during halftime, because Patrick Mahomes and crew came out the locker room with a different type of "swag" Kansas City scored 13 points in a blur to take a 19-16 lead at the start of the fourth quarter. Denver hit a 54-yarder to tie the game up.


With under three minutes left, KC had to rely on their defense to force a three and out It looked like the Chiefs would get the ball back, but Bo Nix hit Courtland Sutton for a 25-yard to move the chains. A couple plays later; Denver kicked a field goal to shock the Chiefs. Mahomes finished 276 yards, 1 td and 1 pic. Nix finished 24 of 37 for 295 yards.
