Candace Parker and Chelsea Gray delivers daggers in Overtime against the Dream, 93-85

Bradenton, FL- The Los Angles Sparks went on a 12-4 run in overtime to beat the Atlanta Dream, 93-85.

Down by two with .3.5 seconds left in regulation, Candace Parker called her number, drove the ball to the lane, and scored a lay-up to tie the game up, as time expired. In overtime, Chelsea Gray and Candace Parker hit some big shots to take the lead and never looked back. Gray had a couple of steals and Parker had a couple of blocks to pull out a scrappy victory over the Dream. Gray and Parker combined for 37 points, 8 assists, and 14 rebounds.

Outside of Gray and Parker, the Sparks had three players that had double figures. It seemed like the energy was not there until late in the fourth quarter and that is something that the Sparks need to tighten up with moving forward in the second half of the season. The Sparks were not as careless turning the ball over in overtime and picked up the intensity. Los Angeles made the Dream play to their level, as they picked up the pace and that is not something that the Dream likes to play. The Dream is more of a halfcourt team that slows up the tempo, gets their players into more settled shots, and likes to push the ball in the post area. In overtime, the Dream could not get anything going offensively and struggled to stop Parker from getting to the bucket.

With a win over the Dream, the Sparks continue their sixth game winning streak and hold onto the third seed in the Western Conference standings.
