Aces hold on to get the victory Mystics 96-93

Las Vegas- In a close game against the Washington Mystics, the Aces escaped with a 96-93 victory.


Down by five in the third quarter, Chelsea Gray started to go off. Gray hit a couple of key shots to spark a 9-2 run and put the Aces in the driver seat to potentially win the game. Even though the Aces was getting everything they wanted with their bigs, they struggled to hit perimeter shots going into the fourth.


The Aces had trouble stopping Ariel Atkins, who gotten hot in the fourth.She was playing around the globe with the Aces'defenders and had them on skates trying to stop her. With Atkins scoring and the Aces' playing too relax, the Aces' lead started to shrink. With under three minutes left in regulation, a once double figure lead turned into single digits for Las Vegas.


The Mystics tied the game up with .50 seconds left in regulation. On the Aces next possession, Liz Cambage hit a crucial bucket to put them up two. After a missed shot by the Mystics, the Mystics fouled Aja Wilson, who made her free throws. With only 7.6 seconds left, Atkins nailed a long three to cut Las Vegas' lead to three. Wilson came up huge steal on an inbound pass to get her team the victory.


Wilson finished with 15 points and 15 rebounds

Cambage finished with 24 and 11 rebounds
