University of Houston's head coach Willie Fritz was very enthused when talking to media about the impact and the energy of his players in Day 1of fall practice. "I like what I see from our players. I like the energy and what I see. We just need to keep that energy."

Last season was a step back as they went 4-8, but the team feels like they learned a lot about themselves and the trials and tribulations of trying to figure out what works and what does not. Despite, having an off season, they were .500 playing at home (3-3). Coach Fritz talked a bit about what he needs to see from his QB in Zeon Chriss. Coach feels like Chriss can be dynamic with his legs and has poise when given time in the pocket. With only a few weeks left before the season opener, everyone is seeing a lot of improvement from their QB. It's only day 1 and there is so much more, we will explore with this team this season.
