Washington suffers another second half loss

The Washington Wizards were on the road Monday night as they took on the struggling Raptors in Toronto. Washington started the game playing great on both ends of the court, which helped them go into the half with a huge 19-point lead. Jordan Poole was creating open looks for his teammates early on, and he ended the half with four assists. The majority of the second half was dominated by the Wizards, and that was due to the play of forward Kyle Kuzma, who carried the scoring load with 34 points and four three-pointers. Although the Wizards two young stars, Poole and Kuzma, started the game playing well, they eventually started to unravel late in the game as they both committed several turnovers, combining for 10 in total between the two. On the defensive end, Washington had no resistance when it came to Pascal Siakam, and he torched them for 39 points.

The Wizards held a 10-point lead with a little over five minutes remaining in regulation, but the turnovers eventually gave the Raptors an opportunity down the stretch, and they took full advantage. The Raptors defense was tremendous as well, and they held Washington scoreless in the last five minutes of the game. There were six seconds remaining when the Wizards called a timeout and ran a play for Kuzma, but he unfortunately stepped out of bounds, which basically ended the game for Washington 111-107 . The Wizards will be sleeping in their own beds for awhile as they will have their next three games at home and will be looking to get back into the win column.
