WarnerMedia and NHL close on a seven-year deal
New York- On Tuesday, it was announced that the NHL was going to be showing games on HBO Max, as WarnerMedia and the NHL finalized a seven-year deal.
WarnerMedia is changing up the game, as they struck up a deal with the NHL to showcase them on TNT, TBS, and some of their other household channels. The NHL decided to drop NBC Universal, which broadcast hockey for over 16 years.
“We’re delighted to spotlight the world’s best hockey league on our leading networks, while continuing to further elevate this marquee property through an ever-expanding array of digital platforms in the years to come,” said Jeff Zucker, chairman of WarnerMedia’s news and sports operations, in a prepared statement.
