The Miami Marlins drafted three players in the 2024 MLB First-year player draft on Day 1
The Miami Marlins drafted Center Fielder PJ Morlando with the 16th overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft. Morlando is a highly sought out prospect from Summerville High School (South Carolina) which was named the 2024 South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year. With the 56th pick the Marlins drafted Shortstop Carter Johnson, which is another high school prospect out of Oxford High School (Alabama). Johnson is a University of Alabama commit that is the 40th-best prospect in the class of 2024 MLB Pipeline. The 70th pick for the Miami Marlins saw a Right-handed pitcher, Aiden May, being drafted out of Oregon State University. May’s junior year season record was 7-1 with an ERA of 3.05 in 14 starts for OSU. May was rewarded with a Third-Team All-American and All-Pac-12 First Team.
