Las Vegas- The Golden Knights had a huge comeback for the ages against the Carolina Hurricanes to steal Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Coming into this match-up, the Golden Knights and their high-powered offense were the favorite to win the series and add another title to their organization, but they knew they had to get past Carolina. Carolina has proven time and time again that despite being an underdog, they could get it done.
Carolina jumped to an early lead, and it looked like heading into the second period that Vegas was in all sorts, trying to find some type of spark to get back in the game. The Knights scored on back-to-back goals and Tomas Hertld hit a game winning silencer in the last three minutes of the third to crush the Hurricanes' spirit.
For the first time in NHL history, the Knights were the first team to comeback from a deficit to take the first game, while trailing.
The next game will be Thursday at 7 PM, ET.
