Team USA punishes Italy in quarterfinals100-63

After taking a loss to the chin by Lithuania, Steve Kerr and crew wanted the world to know that they took that loss personally and wanted to make a statement game against Italy. Coming out the gate, Team USA was very focused with getting into rhythm and not forcing up shots. Going against a smaller Italy team, Team USA used their quickness to get quality shots around the rim as well as used it on the defensive end of. They had 32 fast break points late in the third quarter and extend their lead to 32.

Mikal Bridges and Tyrese Haliburton combined for 42 points in the victory. Despite the victory, Team USA felt like they still had more to improve on before they face Latvia or Germany.
