Suns are optimistic about the players that they drafted

The Phoenix Suns' 2025 NBA Draft has received widespread acclaim following the trade of Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets, which secured the No. 10 pick in the first round. With this pick, the Suns selected Duke center Khaman Maluach, a promising rim-protector with significant potential. Maluach's defensive capabilities and shot-blocking skills address a key need for the Suns, providing a strong presence in the paint.

In the second round, Phoenix moved up to secure Saint Joseph's forward Rasheer Fleming, an energetic wing whose style complements Ryan Dunn's. Fleming's athleticism and ability to guard multiple positions make him a valuable addition, particularly in bolstering the Suns' perimeter defense. Later, with the No. 41 pick, the Suns chose Kentucky guard Koby Brea, a standout three-point shooter from college basketball. Brea's shooting efficiency and ability to stretch the floor add a much-needed offensive dimension to the Suns' second unit.

Suns' draft grade was a "B," according to ESPN, despite questions about trading for Duke center Mark Williams.  Analyst Kevin Pelton highlighted the Suns' decision to stand firm on Maluach as the best choice available and praised their use of future picks to secure Fleming and Brea. While the Durant trade raised concerns, the Suns effectively maximized their return, adding depth and talent to their roster.
