South Carolina continues to win

On Monday night, No. 2 South Carolina defeated No. 18 Tennessee 70-63 behind 18 points from Joyce Edwards. There were 11 points from MiLaysia Fulwiley, and the Gamecocks also had 10 points from Te-Hina Paopao, Chloe Kitts, and Raven Johnson.
With the win, South Carolina stays undefeated in the SEC and ends a five-game streak against ranked opponents. Despite leading by as many as 22 points in the game at the Food City Center, the Volunteers were able to chip away until the end of the game to make the final score close at the end.
Tennessee, which has lost three in a row, was led by Ruby Whitehorn with 12 points. Talaysia Cooper added 11.
South Carolina's defense has adapted by relying on a more collaborative effort in the paint, with Edwards stepping up as a key shot-blocker and rebounder. The team has also increased their defensive intensity on the perimeter to compensate for Ashlyn Watkins' absence, forcing opponents to take tougher outside shots.
