Raiders victorious in Monday Night nail biter
Two words Maxx Crosby. In a game the Raiders needed desperately not just to get back in the standings but for team morale. The Raiders were victorious 17-13 on Monday Night Football. Raiders relied heavily on the defense forcing 3 INTS of quarterback Jordan Love. Crosby’s relentless pressure made the game a living hell for the Packers young quarterback.
The Raiders offense was still unable to break 20 points. Former Packer Davante Adams was used as a decoy for nearly three quarters, Adams caught three passes on the Raiders' game-winning drive. With the Packers focused on Adams, Jakobi Meyers stepped up and scored the game's first touchdown on a nine-yard pass from Jimmy Garoppolo.
The stars for the Raiders offense were Josh Jacobs with 85 all-purpose yards and a touchdown and the aforementioned Meyers who had 7 catches for 75 yards and 1 TD. Jimmy Garroppolo had 208 yards but threw another interception. Now he leads the league with 7 ints on the season. Luckily, for the Raiders offense their defense showed up big. The Raiders defense was able to force three turnovers, linebacker Robert Spillane got two interceptions and Raider's cornerback Amik Robertson made the play of the night sealing the game with a fantastic interception.
For the Packers it's back to the drawing board with a 2-3 record heading into their bye week their young quarterback Jordan Love has struggled so far in the year with turnovers. As for the Raiders Josh McDaniels, Meyers and Garropplo will face a familiar foe in the struggling Patriots back in Las Vegas.
