Packers stunned by 49ers 13-10

With another MVP in sight, as well as third consecutive NFC Championship appearance, Aaron Rodgers in crew would have to defeat a scrappy 49ers team that has shocked everyone as of late. Going into the game, Rodgers knew that they could not turn the ball over and give any hope and confidence to Jimmy G and Deebo Samuel.

With the -1 wind chills from Jack Frost swirling at Lambeau field, the Packers gave their fans something to be excited about early on. Aaron Rodgers and crew just shredded what little defense that the 9ers brought with them on their opening drive. They went 10 plays for 69 yards, capping the drive off with a two-yard ground and pound touchdown run by AJ Dillon to strike first. Late in the first, It seemed like the Packers were about to score potential points in the redzone, but the 9ers forced a fumble and recovered it. On the ensuing 9ers' drive, Green Bay's defense caused havoc and did not let Jimmy G turn the turnover into points.

After the Packers' first two possessions, the offense looked very flat and out of sync. The offensive line struggled against San Fran's pass rush and had no answer with stopping it. Aaron Jones really did not put his stamp on the half until a broken coverage by the 49ers late in the quarter, which put Green Bay in good position to come away with points. However that was not the case. The Packers attempted a 30-yard field goal attempt, but it was blocked. Despite having 203 yards of total offense, the Packers walked into the locker room with 7-0 lead.

At the start of the second half, it started snowing, which made the field a little slick. You could see some of the players slipping and sliding trying to get their footing..Green Bay had six consecutive drives where they could not collective get a first down and had to punt the ball. Very late in the third, the Jones' started rolling. Jones was doing it both on the ground and catching the ball through the air to put the Packers in position to score at the start of the fourth quarter

Mason Crosby kicked a 33-yard field goal to make it a one possession game, 10-3.

On a fourth and one with six minutes left in the regulation, the Packers' defense made a huge stop. They stuffed the 49ers behind the line of gain and it looked like a few first downs and the game could be over. After a three and out, the special teams for the Packers blew another chance to pin the 9ers deep. The punt was blocked, picked up by 9ers and they ran it to the house to tie the game up, 10-10.

Everything was going wrong for the Packers and with under two minutes left in the game, they needed to force a three and out, get the ball back, and either go for the game winner with a field goal or take the game into OT. Green Bay failed to get the stop and they could only pray that Robbie Gould would miss the 45-yard field goal. The field goal was good, shocking the Packers.
