Ole Miss wins Peach Bowl over Penn State 38-25

As the bowl games continue during the holiday season, many college football programs have been impacted by players opting out and entering the transfer portal.  It is a recurring theme for several teams, however entering the Peach Bowl, both Ole Miss and Penn State had their starting quarterbacks playing in the game.  Penn State entered the game with a 10-2 record and Sophomore quarterback Drew Allar with a number 10 ranking.  Ole Miss also came into the game with a 10-2 record and Junior quarterback Jaxson Dart leading the Rebels with a number 11 ranking.  The Peach Bowl totaled 63 combined points.

Jaxson Dart passed for 379 yards for 3 touchdowns on an efficient 25 of 40 passing completions.  Rebels’ sophomore running back, Quinshon Judkins, rushed for 106 yards on 34 attempts.  Ole Miss controlled the line of scrimmage as Penn State showed an early sign of defensive dominance.  A large credit needs to be given to Ole Miss offensive line coach, John Garrison.  Ole Miss outscored the Nittany Lions 18 to 8 in the second half.

Both teams accumulated over 500+ total yards.  Ole Miss converted all 3 attempts on 4th down and did not turn the ball over.  The Rebel’s defense caused a fumble recovery, and an interception.  Ole Miss ends the season with a 11-2 record with losses only coming from Alabama and Georgia.  It is safe to assume head coach Lane Kiffin is prepared to enter the 2024-2025 season with momentum and will look to build on the Peach Bowl victory.
