NC State, UCONN, Iowa, and USC advance to the Sweet 16

Monday marked the remainder of the teams that were fighting for a spot in the Sweet 16 in the Women's NCAA tournament. If you are a fan of women's basketball you were in for a treat with all of the household names playing on the same day. Check out what teams advanced to the dance of 16.

North Carolina State Tops Tennessee 79-72

What a game by Aziaha James, who scored 22 points to help her team escape Tennessee's late comeback. James was doing all she could to help her team secure a spot in the Sweet 16. After Tennessee went on a 10-4 run late in the game, James hit a couple of big shots for her team to advance.

UCONN- Paige Bueckers lights up Syracuse with 32 points and 10 rebounds

Paige Bueckers set the tone early on against Syracuse. Bueckers was everywhere; when I mean everywhere i mean everywhere. From hitting shots, to stealing Syracuse's cookies, she was putting on a scoring and defensive clinic. With her 20 points in the first half, she helped build an eleven-point lead against Syracuse. Syracuse made the game pretty interesting, coming out the gate on a 8-0 run, which cut UCONN's lead to four. Ashylnn Shade went nuts in the second half. She was putting fire on the flame and helped UCONN extend their lead each time Syracuse would go on a mini run. UCONN's defense did just enough to escape with a 70-64 victory.

Iowa avoids the upset against West Virginia 64-54

Unlike her previous game, Caitlin Clark started the game on a heater. She hit three consecutive three-point shots and extend her team's lead to eight at the end of the first quarter. Iowa's offense went ice cold in the second quarter and West Virginia took advantage of it. With two minutes left in the half, WV went on an 8-2 run to cut Iowa's lead to two at the half. West Virginia was taking it to Iowa with their outside shooting and had them on their heels with two minutes left in regulation. Iowa was clinging onto a four-point lead until Clark hit two clutch free throws to ultimately escape the upset. Clark finished with 32 points.

USC defeats Kansas to advance to the Sweet 16, 73-55

JuJu Watkins was cooking early on, but two quick fouls limited her time on the floor. While she was not on the floor, McKenzie Forbes went into attack mode and was scoring at will. USC went up 15 but Kansas was just hanging around at the half, as they cut the lead to nine. Coming out of the half, the Trojans had trouble with the Jayhawks zone. They had four turnovers in the third quarter, which turned into points for Kansas. However, the Trojans went into aggression mode and went on a 15-8 run to break the game wide open. Watkins finished with 26 points and 11 rebounds.
