Naomi Osaka wins against Anett Kontaveit and will advance to the next round

New York- Naomi Osaka holds Anett Kontaveit to advance to the next round, 6-3, 6-4.

Naomi Osaka came out and broke two in set one, but she had a little trouble trying to figure out Anett Kontaveit's backhand spin. Kontaveit put together a couple of breaks to climb back into the game in the first set, after being down 4-2. However Osaka finished off the first set breaking the next two to win 6-3. Osaka was hitting around 67% on her first serve, while Kontaveit was hitting around 50%.

In the second set, Osaka was taking chances with going after shots and making Kontaveit run from side to side trying to match her with power and speed. Osaka did not take advantage of her break point and Kontaveit ending up breaking and making the set interesting. After gaining her composure, Osaka broke both sets and will be advancing to the next round to play Shelby Rogers.
