Paolo Banchero was the key factor and voice that was heard in the victory over the Pistions.

Heading into the match-up against Detroit, the Magic were slightly the underdogs and knew that they had to build some type of confidence and momentum with heading into the play-in tournament Banchero was the answer as he got out to a hot start and led his team to a double-digit lead in the first half. The Magic opened up the lead with productive shot selections and took advantage of their transitional offense. Outside of that, they held down the fort and did not let any of Detroit players go off for 20+.

Banchero was getting to his spots and took over the game as he demanded the ball. A lot of fans have wanted Banchero to play dominant and I guess her heard those voices because we saw a different type of beast in Banchero. If he can show that pace and how he was aggressive in this game, the Magic could potentially escape the first round, if they handle business i the play-ins. He finished with 31 points and 5 rebounds.
