Sunday was the first time Napheesa Collier stepped on the floor, after being out of the line-up with a sprained ankle and boy she impacted the game against the Fever. It was like she never really missed a beat. In the first few minutes of play, NC had a few missed opportunities that she normally makes, but at the end of the first quarter, she settled in and got into rhythm. They Lynx trailed by 10 heading into the second quarter, but NC, Courtney Williams and Kayla McBride were hitting open shots and combined for 15 points in the quarter to get their team back into the game. Right before halftime, Minnesota went on an 8-o run to go up seven.
Heading into the second half, Minnesota wanted to keep putting pressure on the Fever's bigs and not allow them second chance opportunities on the glass. Natasha Howard and Aliyah Boston were a key factor with giving the Fever the double-digit lead in the previous quarters. The Lynx kept Howard and Boston in check for the most of the third quarter. Each time it looked like the Lynx was going to run away with the game, the Fever would make a couple of threes to keep within striking distance. Indiana cut the Lynx's lead to nine within five minutes left but Collier put the finishing touches on the game to pull out the victory. NC finished with 32 points.
