Kansas City becomes a dynasty after defeating the 49ers in a thriller 25-22

WOW what a game. It took overtime to determine a winner and now Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are back-to-back champions.

In the first half of the game, it was like two heavyweight boxers feeling each other out. It was a sloppy, mistake-filled affair that was mostly boring until the fourth quarter and overtime. It was the second of 58 Super Bowls to be tied after regulation. It was the first game played under revised overtime rules that ensured both teams got the ball.

The 49ers’ opening drive in overtime didn't go well. Brock Purdy’s first pass was almost intercepted. Then, on second down, there was a false start. Later in the drive, on third down, a Purdy pass fell incomplete. But San Francisco got a huge break with a holding call on Kansas City. Purdy capitalized on the penalty. The drive ended with a Jake Moody field goal from 27 yards.

There is no doubt that if you don't deliver that knockout punch to Mahomes and the Chiefs, you might as well cancel Christmas on yourself because he will come through for you no matter what. As a result of the Chiefs' 13-play, 75-yard drive, which finished off with Mahomes' 35-yard strike to Mecole Hardman, the Chiefs won their third Super Bowl in five seasons.

Now with that being said it's time to include Mahomes in the GOAT talk as he has already passed Peyton Manning. In my opinion at the moment, he would be third on the GOAT list, behind the likes of Tom Brady and Joe Montanna, however if he wins three straight Super Bowl championships in a row, something that has never been done before, I have a feeling some will have him first on the list after he wins three consecutive championships. Only time will tell!!!!
