Eagles will keep three QB's in their system, heading into the regular season of the NFL

Philadelphia- On Tuesday, the Eagles named Jalen Hurts as their starter going into Week 1 of the regular season.

Hurts got the starter position on lock, despite him playing very few downs in the preseason. From the coaches' perspective, Hurts kept improving his game and they felt like he was the better option that could take this very young team to a potential postseason. Outside of Hurts, Joe Flacco is the back up.

Flacco showed off in preseason and show everyone that counted him out that he could still throw the deep ball at a high percentage. Flacco earned the backup role and could potentially see some time in the game if Hurts does not play up to expectation.

Last week the Eagles made a shocking move with getting former Jaguars QB Gardner Minshew in a trade and like what he brought to the table. During a press conference VP for the Eagles Howie Roseman talked about why he felt like the trade for Minshew was good for the organization.

"I think that in 15 of the last 16 years here in Philly, we've carried three quarterbacks, so I don't think it's unusual for us. When you look at the 17-game schedule and everything that's kind of going on in the world, we thought it was a good opportunity for our football team to improve," said Roseman.

The Eagles open their season against the Atlanta Falcons.
