The Philadelphia Eagles appeared to be in control Sunday afternoon, but a disastrous fourth quarter turned a double-digit advantage into a painful 24-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams at Lincoln Financial Field.
Philadelphia carried a 20-10 lead into the fourth quarter before Los Angeles scored 14 unanswered points, including two late touchdowns from running back Kyren Williams. The loss dropped the Eagles to 2-2 on the season and marked their second consecutive defeat.
The Eagles entered the matchup already dealing with significant injuries and then lost star running back Saquon Barkley to a hamstring injury during the game. Still, Philadelphia found a way to build an early advantage.
Jalen Hurts connected twice with Darius Cooper for touchdowns in the second quarter. Cooper finished with three receptions for 33 yards, but two of those catches found the end zone and helped Philadelphia take a 20-10 halftime lead.
Philadelphia's defense also created opportunities. Matthew Stafford threw two interceptions in the first half, and those turnovers helped the Eagles generate 10 points. Stafford ultimately finished 32-of-51 for 317 yards with no passing touchdowns and two interceptions.
