Despite loss against Titans, Gardner Minshew and the Jaguars show improvement

Jacksonville- After a heartbreak loss to the Tennessee Titans 33-30, the Jaguars have shown that they can compete with a playoff team.

Behind the arm of the young Gardner Minshew, the Jaguars made a second half comeback to make the game more a nail bitter. The Titans won on a field goal kick that was successful at the end of regulation. Minshew showed grit and fire that he was not going to go out without a fight. He did not get on himself after he threw two touchdowns, Minshew brushed it off and inspired his team to play sound ball. He finished the game with 339 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions.

This is the second week that Minshew showed the world that he can be the leader of the team. James Robinson had a monster game against a very good Titans team. He ran for 102 yards. and a touchdown The Jaguars have found a gem with Robinson. He is a mixture of speed, power, and has no problem blocking down the field when he has to.

On the defensive side, the Jaguars need to improve their pass rush, because through the air, Ryan Tannehill torched them with 239 yards and touchdowns. If the Jaguars can dial up a little more pressure, they could make life miserable for opposing quarterbacks. The Jaguars actually stopped Derrick Henry from being a key factor for the Titans. Henry rushed for 84 yards and had no touchdowns.

The Jags' head coach Doug Marrone had a lot to say about his defense on Sunday in a virtual press conference. "I felt good. I think that, like I said, those guys, they were battling. I think we talked about Tennessee having a real good strong front seven, were able to get some runs, get some positive yardage."

"There was two or three plays late where guys were getting off blocks or coming through. I think those are things that you need to improve on. overall, I think those guys -- I think after you lose it's kind of tough. I don't think a position group is going to walk out of here and say, gosh, I feel great about ourselves right now. You know, like I said, there's a lot of good. There's some things to clean up. But I those guys were battling their butts off, and I thought they did a really nice job."
