Cody Rhodes will get a chance to finish his story at Wrestlemania 40, gets slapped by The Rock

We are officially on the road to Wrestlemania. Yesterday fans and media alike packed the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas to see what direction the biggest spectacle in wrestling would be headed towards. There was much controversy going into the presser. A massive curveball was thrown as fan favorite and Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes seemed to give up his spot to The Rock on the February 2nd episode of SmackDown and was given the match with Roman Reigns. This led to an uproar from fans, which WWE promised to address at the press conference.

It was announced during the press conference that Cody Rhodes will indeed challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. After the announcement an enraged Reigns said Cody was as irrelevant as his late father, "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes. That prompted Cody to say if the grandfathers of The Rock and Roman Reigns were alive, they'd be disgusted with "The Tribal Chief." Cody also made a jab at the head of the table moniker when he said neither of them have cooked anything in the last two years.

The Rock reminded Cody that when he talks about Reigns' family, he's talking about his own bloodline. Johnson then slapped Cody in the face, and both men were separated. The Rock has now officially turned heel. A backstage segment showed The Rock and his cousin Roman Rheins warning HHH he better do something about Cody Rhodes' disrespect or they’ll handle it.

With just months away from Wrestlemania the build up to the main event may be the most epic storyline we have ever witnessed  in pro wrestling. Also seen at the press conference was Women’s Heavyweight Champion Rhea Ripley being interrupted by her possible challenger Becky Lynch. Wrestlemania from Philadelphia is 57 days away.
