Clemson gets embarrassed by Ohio State, 49-28

Clemson- The Tigers' defense was torched by Ohio State in a disappointing loss.

After the Clemson Tigers grabbed a 14-7 lead, their defense allowed Justin Fields and Ohio State to score 28 unanswered points before the end of the half. Clemson' secondary was getting torched by Fields and gave up 394 yards of total offense in one half. Simply put, the underdogs were the ones taking it to the Tigers and making sure their presence was felt on both sides of the ball. The halftime score was 35-14.

In the second half, Clemson had to dig themselves out of a deep hole in order to keep their season alive. The Tigers' defense stepped it up at the start of the third quarter. They forced Fields to throw his first interception of the day, which stopped potential points for Ohio State.

Trevor Lawrence drove his team down the field and capped off the drive with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Cornell Powell to chip at Ohio States' lead, 35-21. On the ensuing drive, Fields sucked the life out of Clemson, as he hit his receiver for a 61-yard touchdown to extend the lead back to a three possession, 42-21.

Fields closed the door of a Clemson comeback with a 42-yard touchdown, which put the game out of reach at the start of the fourth, 49-21. After it was said and done, Clemson did not look the same after the first quarter and their secondary was on skates the entire night against Ohio State.
