Caroline Garcia upsets top-seeded Karolina Pliskova at US Open

New York- Caroline Garcia pulls out the biggest victory of her career and stuns Karolina Pliskova in the second round of the US Open.

Pliskova was ranked No:1 in the 2020 US Open because a lot of the players decided to opt out because of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, her quest to get to the next round was cut short by Caroline Garcia, who flat out beat Pliskova in both sets; 6-1, 7-6.

Garcia frustrated Pliskova with her back spin and made Pliskova work for every ball she sent her way. It seemed like Pliskova was not expecting Garcia to be the aggressor and was very flat footed with returning serves. This is the first time since 2008 that the top-seeded woman lost in the second round of the Open.
