Bubba Wallace will be driver for Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin's new team

Seattle- Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin purchased a NASCAR Cup Series Charter and will be including Bubba Wallace as their driver.

Starting next year, Wallace will be driving for His Airness’ and is pretty excited about his new journey in NASCAR. Earlier this month, Wallace made the decision that he would be leaving Richard Petty Motorsports. After it was said and done, Hamlin wanted Wallace to be apart of the team, because he felt like Wallace had so much more left in the tank and felt like he would be the perfect fit for the team.

Here is what Jordan had to say about his purchase. "Growing up in North Carolina, my parents would take my brothers, sisters and me to races, and I've been a NASCAR fan my whole life. The opportunity to own my own racing team in partnership with my friend, Denny Hamlin, and to have Bubba Wallace driving for us, is very exciting for me. Historically, NASCAR has struggled with diversity and there have been few Black owners. The timing seemed perfect as NASCAR is evolving and embracing social change more and more. In addition to the recent commitment and donations I have made to combat systemic racism, I see this as a chance to educate a new audience and open more opportunities for Black people in racing."

Wallace has 105 career starts and this year he had five top 10 finishes.
