The Minnesota Vikings have announced that Gamecock Hall of Famer Bobby Bryant will be inducted into their Ring of Honor in 2024

In 2024, the Minnesota Vikings will induct former cornerback Bobby Bryant into their Ring of Honor. This is part of Legends Weekend festivities for the Houston Texans game on Sept. 22. He will be the first cornerback and third defensive back to be inducted into the Vikings Ring of Honor.

Among the great Vikings he will join are Fran Tarkenton, Korey Stringer, Cris Carter, John Randle, Chris Doleman, Matt Birk, Ahmad Rashad, Randy Moss, Dennis Green, Kevin Williams and Jared Allen and many more.

In the mid-'60s, Bryant was a two-sport standout at South Carolina. As a defensive back in 1966, Bryant was named a first-team All-American and won the Anthony J. McKelvin Award in 1967. His 98-yard punt return remains the school record, and he was the first Gamecock pitcher to strike out 100 batters in a season. In 1979, he was inducted into the South Carolina Association of Lettermen Hall of Fame.

Bryant spent 14 seasons with the Vikings from 1967-80, when he was drafted seventh overall (167th overall) in 1967. His 57 regular season and playoff interceptions rank first in Vikings history. He holds the team record for the most playoff picks with six. In addition to starting Super Bowl VIII and XI, Bryant played on 11 division-winning Vikings teams. In 1969, he was named to the Second-Team All-Pro team, and in 1975, he was selected for the Pro Bowl.
